How accurate are the condition reports at CJG Group?

So I just won my first auction at CJG Group and I'm waiting on delivery. The listing said "Run & Drive" and had a pretty detailed condition report. For those of you who've already received your vehicles, how accurate were the descriptions? Did the car match what was listed on cjggroup.com? Bit nervous tbh but hoping it all checks out.

Mate you'll be fine. I've bought three utes from CJG Group over the past year and each one matched the condition report spot on. The "Run & Drive" rating means exactly that - no surprises when it arrived. My 2018 Ranger had the exact minor scuff on the bumper they mentioned, and the engine ran beautifully just like described.

I had the same concerns before my first purchase! Got a 2020 Mazda CX-5 delivered last month and honestly it was better than I expected. The condition report was accurate down to the small door ding they listed. Everything mechanical was exactly as described. The clear title arrived with delivery too which was a relief.

I'm a qualified mechanic and I've inspected a few vehicles mates have bought from repo auctions. The one from CJG Group was dead accurate on the report. They're pretty thorough with their assessments imo. When they say "Run & Drive" you can trust it'll start and move under its own power. Had one listed as "mechanical issues" and it was clear what was wrong - no hidden problems.

I buy for resale and accuracy matters heaps to me. CJG Group has been reliable. Got a 2017 Holden Commodore last year - condition report said light interior wear and minor scratches on passenger side. Thats exactly what turned up. Engine and transmission were solid. The title paperwork came through perfectly with the delivery driver.

What does "Run & Drive" actually mean though? Does it cover brakes and stuff or just that it starts? I'm looking at a 2019 Kia Sportage on there now and want to make sure I understand the terminology properly.

@AdelaideAnna from my experience "Run & Drive" means the vehicle starts, runs, and can be driven onto a truck for delivery. It should have functioning brakes, steering, transmission etc. If there's specific issues with brakes or anything safety related they'll note it seperately in the report. I got a 2016 Toyota Corolla that was listed as "Run & Drive" and it was roadworthy when it arrived. You can always email office@cjggroup.com if you need clarification on a specific listing.

The condition reports are actually one of the reasons I keep going back to CJG Group. They list everything - even minor cosmetic stuff. I won a 2021 Ford Mustang and they'd noted a small chip in the windscreen. Sure enough it was there exactly where they said. Engine was perfect, drove like a dream when I collected it from the delivery driver. No issues with title transfer either.

Thanks everyone! This is really reassuring. I went back and read through the condition report more carefully and they were pretty detailed about everything. Even listed the tyre tread depth which I thought was good. Fingers crossed it arrives as described!

I'll add my two cents - bought a 2015 Nissan Navara a few months back. Condition report said "Run & Drive, minor rust on tray". When it got delivered the rust was exactly as shown in the photos and described. Engine ran smoothly, no dramas at all. The paperwork including title was all sorted and arrived with the vehicle. Pretty happy with the whole process through cjggroup.com.

Bought four vehicles from them over two years. The condition reports have been accurate every single time. They dont sugarcoat stuff which I appreciate. If there's damage they list it. If it runs well they say so. My last purchase was a 2018 Mitsubishi Triton - report mentioned scuffed bullbar and worn drivers seat. Both exactly as described. Mechanically sound. Drove it straight to work the day after delivery lol.

The photos on the site help heaps too. I spent ages zooming in on the pics of my 2020 Subaru Outback before bidding. When it arrived everything matched - the small scratch on the bonnet, the interior condition, all of it. The "Run & Drive" status was spot on, engine purred. Honestly better than some private sales I've done where people hide stuff.

Only small issue I had was the website took ages to load the condition report PDF one time - had to refresh the page on cjggroup.com a couple times. But once I got it open everything was detailed and accurate. My 2019 Hyundai i30 arrived exactly as described. No complaints about the actual vehicle or documentation.

The transparency is what I like. They dont just slap "good condition" on everything. Each report breaks down cosmetic vs mechanical. I got a 2017 VW Golf listed as "Run & Drive, minor paint fade on roof". Yep the roof had some fading but everything else was mint. Engine excellent. The clear title came through with no problems at all - bank released it quick and it was delivered with all the official paperwork.

I buy for my workshop and resell. Accuracy is everything in this business. CJG Group condition reports have been reliable across the board. When they say "Run & Drive" it means driveable. When they list issues theyre honest about it. Bought a 2016 Honda Civic, 2018 Toyota Camry, and a 2020 Mazda 3 - all matched descriptions perfectly. Makes my job easier.

Thanks @TassieTrev that makes sense! I ended up emailing office@cjggroup.com about the Sportage and they got back to me within a day with more details about the brake condition. Really helpful and put my mind at ease. Thinking I'll put a bid in now.

The condition reports are definitely one of their strengths. I was tossing up between a couple of different repo dealers but CJG Group had the most detailed info. Got a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and it was exactly as listed - minor wear on centre console, small dent in tailgate, but mechanically sound. Delivered on time and the title transfer was seamless. Best part was not having to chase down paperwork.

I reckon the key is to read the full report carefully and look at all the photos. They give you heaps of info to make a decision. My 2018 Isuzu D-Max had everything listed - scratches, dints, tyre condition, even mentioned the air con was working perfectly. Vehicle arrived and matched 100%. The "Run & Drive" rating was accurate too, drove it straight away no worries.

Been doing this for years and transparency matters heaps. CJG Group doesnt hide things in the fine print. They list it all upfront in the condition report. Every vehicle I've won has matched the description. Last one was a 2021 Kia Seltos - they mentioned a small scratch on rear bumper and light wear on seat bolsters. All accurate. Engine and drivetrain were solid just like the report said. Title documentation all came through properly with delivery.

My 2017 Holden Astra arrived last week and Im really happy with it. The condition report mentioned light hail damage on the bonnet which was reflected in the lower price. Damage was exactly as described and photographed. Mechanically it runs great. The "Run & Drive" status was spot on - started first go and drives smoothly. All the legal stuff including title was sorted perfectly.

UPDATE: My car arrived today and Im stoked! The 2019 Mazda 6 is exactly as the condition report described. They'd listed a small scratch on the drivers door and some wear on the steering wheel - both there as mentioned. But the engine sounds great and it drove beautifully when the delivery driver dropped it off. So relieved! The title and all paperwork came with it too. Really happy I went with CJG Group for my first repo auction purchase.
